SimplyListed is a Y Combinator backed startup that makes it really easy to sell stuff online. As Co-Founder and CCO, I was responsible for building a recognizable and modern brand in a sea of similar, yet poorly executed competitor services. This involved the design of the iPhone app and website, front-end code for all online services, as well as contributing to the overall direction of the product and company.
Before SimplyListed, our founding team was building a product called Friendfer – an iPhone app to get restaurant recommendations.
I contracted at Dropbox, Inc. for a period of three months while working towards a full-time position, but ended up leaving at the end of my contract to work on what would eventually become SimplyListed.
I designed a handful of webpages, worked on the iPhone app homescreen, rethought the file upload flow, and mocked up new implementations of the web file browser – all while getting pretty good at ping pong.
I contributed design to nearly all of Scrapblog's product ventures, including the website, scrapbook builder, and a Facebook app. I also led rebranding efforts and was involved in key product decisions and promotional campaigns – all while getting pretty good at hacky sack.
While attending college, I worked for the Amherst Exempted Village School District in Amherst, Ohio as a team lead for the district's tech department. We provided hardware and software support to a staff of 400. I taught multiple inservice sessions for faculty and staff on a variety of topics ranging from Mac OS X software to using interactive white boards.
